The "Bee Hive" Bee House
Isn’t this so adorable? Each bee house is individually painted by artist Carol Johnson, who’s studio is down the road from our shop. Painted fuzzy bees are among the flowers trying to decide whether to enter the house. Mason Bees are non-aggressive, and they don’t live in hives but instead seek shelter in existing holes. This Bee Hive Bee House replicates the natural cavities that Mason Bees are attracted to. Place it close to your flowers, fruit trees or herbs so that once the bees have made their home there, they will pollinate and make your vegetation lush and fruitful. Handmade from Western Red Cedar. The 5/16” holes range from 2.5” to 3.5” deep. 7”diameter x 4.5”tall.
