Ants arrived largely intact and lasted. We bought this the end of Feb and as of April 14, there are still about 10 ants alive and active. Could see the ants easily in the blue gel. Habitat was nice, seemed a little small for 25 med sized ants. Would recommend this one.

I am a 4th grade teacher, and I bought the farm for my classroom. They love it. Only 4 kids can observe it at a time because it is smaller. The farm has been “accidentally” turned upside down, tipped over, and basically over loved. None of the ants have escaped, and the daily curiosity is amazing.

What amazing insight into the world of ants! This order arrived earlier than expected, to the delight of expectant children who were eager to observe these interesting insects. The ants and their blue gel habitat were securely packaged and arrived safely. We introduced 25 live ants to their new home, and almost immediately they began exploring. Overnight, they had begun digging from the surface toward the bottom. The whole process is fascinating and so educational! It’s really been incredible to watch how they work and see how they tunnel.

it’s good – but i didn’t realize ants are included. i was hoping to save for a xmas gift, then when i opened the box i realized the ants would never live until xmas! so, my daughter got an early gift. very easy to set up – just 30 seconds and then you can start watching them go to town.

This is an excellent product. Our 6 year old it thrilled and ants are now one of his two favorite animals. We keep it in the coolest, most dim room in the house (one on the north side) and are excited to see the ant’s progress every 12 hours. The whole family is enjoying it. I bought it with ants included and am pleased with the survival rate: only about 3 dead. I ordered it for Christmas according the time frame shown on it item’s purchase page which meant I received it and refrigerated it for 5 days. I opened it promptly upon receiving it. If we had received it on a summer day it may have been a different outcome with the ants sitting in the hot sun on the south side of the house all afternoon before we opened the package.

It has been a month and only 3 ants are still alive. It was fun to see them make tunnels, but retrieving the dead ones is not easy with some still alive. The children have enjoyed watching the tunneling. A pretty good gift, all in all.
