How many tadpoles can I put in my starter habitat?

Each tadpole needs at least one gallon of water. Depending on whether you ordered the standard or the large habitat, you can put 1 or 2 tadpoles in it.

My tadpole isn’t moving. Should I be alarmed?

It can take up to a day before the tadpole starts moving around and exploring the habitat. There is no need to be worried.

How long before my tadpole turns into frog?

It takes about 12 to 16 weeks for tadpoles to turn into frogs with complete weekly water changes.

My tadpoles were doing fine yesterday but they are dead now. What happened?

Such a sudden turn of events is usually caused by unclean water:
1. Accidentally introducing hand lotion or soap into the habitat during a water change
2. Forgetting to add the water treatment to tap water
3. Unattended decaying food in the habitat which turned the water dirty
Unclean water causes harm to your tadpoles over time but the effect is not directly visible. Their condition worsens gradually and leads to their untimely death.

Do I need a filter or gravel in my habitat?

Filters may take away the tadpoles’ food and gravel makes water changes hard.

Can I put my new tadpole in a habitat with a frog?

It is not advisable to keep tadpoles and frogs together because the frog might consider the tadpole to be food.

What should I do if I run out of Tadpole Food or water treatment solution?

Your local pet shop will have both. Tadpoles like goldfish food. You can use a water treatment solution made for fish tanks, used to remove chlorine and neutralize metals.
